Das nicht Ansprechen auf IGF1 bei der Resistenz gegenüber Insulin-ähnlichem Wachstumsfaktor (Somatomedin C) resultirt aus Mutationen des IGF1-Rezeptor Gens (IGF1R). Die Vererbung is variabel, je nach Mutation autosomal dominant oder rezessiv. Die Symptome der verminderten Wachstums können bereits intrauterin sichtbar werden oder sich erst im Kindesalter manifestieren.
Bei der Laboruntersuchung finden wir erhöhte IGF1-Werte und ein normales Ansprechen der IGF1-Sekretion auf eine Stimulation mit Wachstumshormon.
