1-acylglycerol-3-phosphate O-Acyltransferase 2
Das AGPAT2-Gen kodiert ein Enzym, welches im endoplasmatischen Retikulum lokalisiert ist, und an der Synthese der Phospholipide beteiligt ist. Mutationen führen zur autosomal rezessiven Lipodystrophie 1 mit Fehlen von Fettgewebe und Insulinresistenz. Der Mangel an Fettgewebe fällt bereits bei der geburt oder im frühen Kindesalter auf. Weitere klinische Merkmale sind Acanthosis nigricans, muskuläre Hypertrophie, Hepatomegalie, gestörte Glukosetoleranz und Diabetes mellitus sowie Hypertriglyceridämie.
