V-KI-RAS2 Kirsten rat sarcoma viral oncogene homolog

The KRAS gene encodes an importent protein in signal transduction. In 17-25% of human tumor cells a somatic activating mutation can be found. These mutations make make the cell resistant to GTPase activating peptides.
