MODY diabetes is the autosomal dominant form of type 2 diabetes.
The following criteria are essential for the diagnosis of MODY diabetes:1. juvenile onset of diabetes.2. primarily no insulin dependency.3. autosomal dominant inheritance.4. confirmation by molecular test.
Genes controlling insulin secretion are responsible for this kind of diabetes. Which way also insulin sensitivity is diminished is not clear yet.
