Das Gen SDCCAG8 kodiert ein zentrosomales Protein, welches eine regulatorische Bedeutung für die Interphase der Mitose besitzt. Mutationen in diesem Gen sind für verschiedene autosomal rezessive Krankheitszustände verantwortlich: Nephronophthise 10, Senior-Loken-Syndrom 7 und Bardet-Biedl-Syndrom 16.
