Die infantile Hypercalciämie ist eine autosomal rezessive Erkrankung die durch Mutationen des CYP24A1-Gens hervorgerufen wird. Folgende Begleitsymptome können auftreten: Wachstumsstörungen, Polyurie mit Dehydratation, muskuläre Hypotonie und Nephrocalcinose. Die PTH-Werte sind supprimiert und bleiben auch nach Normalisierung des Calciumspiegels niedrig.
Die infantile Hypercalciämie lässt sich gut mit einer calciumarmen Diät behandeln. Obwohl damit die Serumcalciumspiegel auf Normalniveau gebracht werden können und eine normal Entwicklung erreicht werden kann, bleibt das PTH weiter supprimiert.
