Shipment

Transportation:

The sole company eligible for international transport from USA to Europe of human biological material is FedEx. The company will provide you with the appropriate forms and the most up-to-date knowledge. Please contact your local representative.
Toll free number USA 800-4633339
Toll free number Europe 0800-123-0800

From other parts of the world other shipment companies might be used as well. This includes UPS, DHL, and more. Within Europe regular postage often is sufficient.

Please consult sample requirements for more details. For most of the samples, such as extracted DNA or whole blood, room temperature is appropriate.

If you consider family screening after a significant mutation was found, it is recommended to send the samples of family members along with the patient's sample in order to save shipment costs. We promise not to touch the other samples until you give a definit order to do so.

We can get FedEx to pick-up the sample in your institution but we will charge you for this. We currently pay for shipment from USA to Germany about 40Euro.

The sample must be human, not infectious, wrapped carefully and, all these things have to be indicated on an accompanying pro forma invoice.

The pro forma invoice can significantly ease passage through customs. A declaration of biological shipment has not to be included if the invoice explicitly declares that the sample is human.

We prefer wire transfer directly onto our account whose details are provided by the invoice. If wire transfer is not convenient for you, please send a check made payable to Dr. Mato Nagel along with the sample. Sorry we can not bill credit cards, pay-pal etc. However, other modes of payment may be arranged individually. Please do not hesitate to ask.

We indicate our prices in Euro. However we except any currency provided the amount is equivalent. There exist several currency calculators on the web, but you can also use the link given below.

If not agreed upon otherwise, the payment has to be payed in advance. An invoice may be prepared and submitted by email or fax beforehand if necessary to reimburse health insurances. Also we can provide CPT codes and expertise that might be useful in the process of obtaining the money.
